I can't tell you how often I've been with friends and have been frustrated with their techno head  intelligence. It sounds very strange. Read the following, and then only you can realize the meaning of my very first sentence.

Couple of weeks ago, I have given my laptop to a computer shop where one of my younger Engineer friends works. I have requested him to do format and reinstall the necessary software stuff. They have told me to purchase a McAffee Total Protection and I have purchased it according to their suggestion. This evening I was there and seen my friend is frustrated a lot due to virus attack on his computer. He told me that this “McAfee” is really not good and it can’t protect the computer from net intrusions. I reminded him about his praising over this software during my purchase of it for my laptop. Suddenly he remembers it and told me that “McAfee is really very good for laptop protection…but it is not good for desktop”…

The same shop, one of the most senior computer experts I know and considered as one of my closest friends (I don’t know about his attitude towards me….) has shown the same type of intelligence when I purchased a new laptop. I was in Jareer Book Store and found a DELL laptop with reasonable price. I have called this friend to have his expert opinion on my choice. Then he told me that there is a high end laptop is available in his custody and can be purchased with a considerable discount. Then I dropped my idea to purchase laptop from Jareer and proceeded to his shop. This laptop configuration was almost -50 % (like memory, hard disk capacity etc) compare to the laptop I have seen in Jareer. Beside all of it there was a spot on the monitor. I learnt from the same person earlier that such spots can be extended and became bigger and bigger time goes on and can’t be repairable. But this time he was very positive on this ‘spot’ and according to him it is really a minor problem and I can save SR 1000 on price due to this spot. Still the price was about SR 1000 riyals higher than the one I selected in Jareer. I had an argument with him over less configuration and spot. Finally, he lost the ground and then suddenly his intelligence answer came out..’See Firdousi…this type of laptop is really not necessary for you…this is very high end system because it is having RS232 interface. Due to the availability of this RS 232 interface, this system is having very high price.’

In fact this RS 232 interface is using in electronic terminals since 1969 and you can find it with any old computers. I agreed that still it is using by many other devices.  Personal computers started to make use of the standard so that they could connect to existing equipment. For many years, a RS-232-compatible port was a standard feature for serial communications, such as modem connections, on many computers. It remained in widespread use into the late 1990s, and while it has largely been supplanted by other interface standards in computer products, it is still used to connect legacy peripherals, industrial equipment (such as based on programmable logic controllers), and console ports.

The bottom line is why you should pay SR 1000 more for a RS 232 interface which you can find it IN any old computer.  YES, I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL BY HAVING SUCH GOOD TECHNO HEAD FRIENDS WHO MISGUIDE YOU OR UNDERESTIMATE YOU WITH NO RESPECT TO THE OTHERS COMMONSENSE. We can't help it, but you have to live with them. So, always make your own decision…don’t believe anyone. Don’t expect any proper guidance from anyone. Think and act yourself. If you are having any limited knowledge on any subject and you can’t avoid and must involve, have sometime to learn about it…Knowledge is not limited to anyone in this era….Just use any search engine and find out…..DON’T BE FOOLED BY OUR INTELLIGENCE TECHNO HEAD GOOD FRIENDS.
