We are always so busy with so much to do. Sometimes we ask ourselves, "Where do I even start?”. This is normally happened with those work for small / medium level companies.

Generally the big companies invest lot of money on software/consultants to control the employees in every aspect of work with software, forms, other systematic ways of handling the work etc. Mostly they have to just follow the system as robots. It sucks too….Recently I was in a branch of a famous bank where they had a new numbering system to control the customers. Two/three types of numbering were available…one for company transaction customers and other one for personal transaction customers. Also there is one for customer service too. Most of the customers will pick a company number in first place as it is in the beginning of the number dispensing machine. Then they realize the mistake and throw it to trashcan. Then normally pick a number as personal customer. As I was having a company transaction, I have taken one company number which was 68. The time was about 5:30 pm. It seems to be the teller will serve one company customer after serving four personal customers. I noticed the company number was serving 49 at that time and each time the company number will appear on digital screen, nobody was present as most of these numbers are on trashcan. But this system has no brain to realize it and indeed the persons there in bank can’t do anything on it too. So, the serving of teller was going on like this…One company number which is on trashcan and then four personal customers…As I was having enough patience and like to observe the situation, I found out there were only 3 company customers were present out of 20 numbers (from 49 – 68). Anyway, we stuck inside during prayer time and all personal customers were lucky to complete their transaction. Then the tellers were going on with calling numbers by seeing the unlucky three company customers…but it was taking lot of time to just press the numbers alone and rules were not allowing them to do our transaction without coming our numbers on screen. Finally I reached in the counter at 7:00 pm. See…just only two customers were ahead of me and I trapped one and half hours inside a bank branch due to there was no human interaction (such as a guard to issue the number) on dispensing the number.

Actually I started this subject to talk about the busy and stress at our work place, but the above said bank story took out most of the place and diverted me away from the title. Anyhow, things are quite different for small/medium level companies where rarely you will find a very planned and firm-minded boss and it result lot of tension on you and things will be delayed. Here the problem maker will be your boss…not the number dispensing machine / system.  

I have had many jobs over the years and have seen much different type of workers and bosses. The coming days, I would like to write more on this matter and request all of my friends to share their work related funny / serious matters with me.  Actually I feel to write more here…but I can foresee my “busy” friends will not have enough patience or time to read all at one sitting.
